Green Shield Workshop crafts custom medieval and fantasy armor, weapons and other unique handcrafted items. Their flagship products include armor and weapon sets from popular shows like Game of Thrones and the Witcher fantasy series as well as smaller products like custom beer steins. They run their e-commerce store through Etsy and that constitutes 80% of their revenue.

Green Shield initially subscribed to the Professional plan and after two months they decided to upgrade to the Enterprise plan in order to take advantage of the Posting and Hashtag Research.


Green Shield takes pride in high quality products, so we came up with their ideal Buyer Persona and targeted Instagram users based on interest and recent activity. We targeted profiles with an interest in Fantasy as well as trending shows like Game of Thrones, while focusing on metropolitan areas to strengthen their networking:

So we’ve established that the ideal follower would be someone who loves fantasy and history, who’s active on social media and follows hashtags relevant for Green Shield.


Having good quality posts is the highest priority in their niche so we designed a schedule that lets them create content at their own pace while maintaining optimal interest and engagement. Most of their clients showed a tendency to sleep in and stay up late, so we timed their posts to go off at 10:00 AM as well as late as 12:00 AM to get great engagement. By scheduling the posts at peak browsing hours and utilizing the right hashtags, we made sure that they were getting maximum exposure and reach.

When we started thinking about Flock, our presence on Instagram was pretty much non existent. We were doing okay on Facebook, however we failed to transition to Instagram. With just over 200 Followers, we weren’t doing much.

When we first spoke to our account manager we were a bit sceptical regarding the number of new Followers she was expecting to attract. Our main concern was that we would just be getting a bunch of fakes that would only harm our brand. However, it turns out that not only did we get real people, but we got amazingly well targeted Followers. Their Follower Persona was spot on.

As a result, alongside a constant income of new followers, we started seeing a lot more engagement on our posts.

But more importantly, we had a huge increase in website clicks, which led to a lot more people visiting our e-commerce store. Ultimately, we started to notice that sales were going up, especially with our hand-crafted mugs (which are in the $50 to $200 range)

At the end of the day, for us it was all about getting a positive ROI. Our monthly fee has drastically increased due to Flock and their ability to create a lot of buzz around our IG page. That resulted in increased traffic, which has created more sales revenue every month.
